Upper School Economics and Business Teacher Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Charleston Collegiate School is seeking a full-time Economics and Business teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, and highly skilled teachers who are passionate about student-centered, collaborative, experiential learning. Candidates should also have a proven track record of success working with middle and high school students. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching high School Economics and Business classes. Entrepreneurship is a key pillar of a CCS education, so an ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with middle school students as well . Salary range: $50-60K, commensurate with experience.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with experiential education and project-based learning, especially in developing and adapting curriculum for group projects with learning goals in mind.
- A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and growth mindset
- A willingness to participate in student-life activities e.g., advisory, club leadership, coaching, after-school programs
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject discipline, e.g., Education or mathematics.
- A minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience

- Independent school experience
- Advanced degree / postgraduate qualification
- The ability to teach other subject disciplines and elective courses
