Project Specialist

Large, rapidly growing biotech organization is seeking a Project Specialist to join their team! This is a great opportunity to join an exciting, and robust company in the Albany area!
Location: Rensselaer, NY
Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm
Pay: $22-25/hr.
Length: 12 month contract
Summary: Using project management techniques and experience, the Temp- External Manufacturing Project Specialist (PS), leads well defined External Manufacturing (EM) sub-projects to support the overall portfolios managed by the External Manufacturing Business Operations Managers. Additionally, the PS may also support, plan and coordinate operational tasks under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Supports project manager with leading at least one well defined External Manufacturing sub-project.
• Maintains and executes External Manufacturing Project Management project plans, timelines, agendas, resourcing requirements, rolling summaries, base lining and other tools required to facilitate planning and coordination of deliverables for each assigned EM project.
• Utilizes basic project management techniques to develop and maintain planning tools (Spreadsheets, MS Project etc.) in support of projects in order to facilitate standardization and coordination across functional areas.
• Develops working relationships with department leaders, line managers and individuals within each functional group utilizing open communication skills.
• Implements tools used by the EM Project team(s) and is directly responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of planning files as well as project update reports for all assigned projects.
• Develops and maintains the organizational structure of shared databases and identifies and implements additional solutions in order to improve information sharing processes as required.
• Assists with other projects as assigned by Manager.

Education and Experience:

• Requires Bachelor's degree in a physical or biological science or business equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Pharmaceutical industry experience, including project management-related experience, preferred.
• CAPM, PMP certification or MBA a plus.

• Action oriented and well organized.
• Demonstrates strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members with tact and diplomacy.
• Handles multiple priorities/tasks with strong time management skills.
