Please note: This position has the possibility to work remotely up to 100% of the time. The position will require occasional travel to the Phoenix corporate offices and/or site locations . This position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except California, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky and New York. Description
Direct payroll changes, testing, special MIS, system, reporting or research projects, and audit functions of the company. This responsibility includes ensuring all system changes, system testing, audit reporting for both Deloitte and E&Y and payroll reporting are performed timely and compliant, while serving as consultant to managers and employees regarding payroll issues.
- Works under minimal supervision and sets objectives, priorities and timelines that impact the department or individual work group; collaborates with peers, the department and has extensive external interaction; works on complex issues and implements solutions through strategy and delegation to others in the department, externally or within the functional area
- Direct, review and understand payroll systems, systems changes, audit requirements and reporting, with recommendations on enhancements to policies and procedures by working with MIS and HR on conversion activities, technological changes with interfaces and technical projects related to payroll updates
- Oversee, review and understand payroll reporting and calculations, deadlines, monthly/quarterly/annual/year-end reporting requirements, responsible for Workers Compensation reporting, as well as other applicable reporting for Accounting, Aon, Zurich, KPMG, ADP, SAP, HR Systems and HR
- Conduct timely coordination and completion of SAP payroll testing, audits and other reporting requirements, including but not limited to Summer Sync, Year End Regression, tax rate changes from BSI and tax agencies, new wage types, wage type changes and accounting changes
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing questions and concerns from government agencies, employees, vendors, and departments, both internal and external
- Serves as back up to the other Payroll Supervisors within the department, as well as other team members that may be out for any length of time
- Assist Management and Senior Leadership with special projects and research upon request, including cost analysis, metrics questions and GCC ticketing items
- Assist Deloitte and Ernst & Young with annual audit processes related to payroll, tax and accounting, including document gathering, coordinating meeting for discussion and answering any questions
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related area and four (4) years payroll experience, including two (2) years SAP & ADP experience; OR
- High School diploma or GED and eight (8) years payroll experience, including two (2) years SAP & ADP experience
- Knowledge of a 10-key calculator
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent planning, assessment, communication, analytical expertise and organization skills
- Professional and tactful
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience and four (4) plus years payroll experience
Criteria/Conditions:
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

Compensation:
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $69,000 - $94,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
