Job Summary:
As a Project Manager at Superior Services, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing Utility Construction projects from initiation to completion. Project sizes will range between $10,000.00 to $5M+/Ea. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at once in various locations throughout the state and surrounding states and could have a combined size of $20M+ at one time. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Utility Construction, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Initiation:
- Work closely with clients, team members, vendors, and subcontractors to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential challenges.
Team Leadership and Management:
- Build and lead a high-performing project team.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Resource Allocation:
- Coordinate with resource managers to allocate personnel, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Optimize resource utilization to ensure project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess project risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Implement risk management plans and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for all project deliverables.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
Client Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance.
- Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring that all project activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
OR 10 Years Min. experience as a Project Manager in utility contracting or a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of Utility Construction processes, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
