Job Description
You will play a vital role in supporting our Public Works including the Land and Site development. Your focus will revolve around developing robust projects and delivering top-tier service offerings to a diverse client base. You will contribute to the design, coordination, and management of a variety of Public Works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the identification, communication, and design aspects of land and site developments, covering infrastructure, paving, and drainage design.
- Assist in managing and coordinating Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations, schedules, and submittals.
- Engage in hands-on design and design supervision of EIT work, including the responsibility of sealing design drawings.
- Maintain frequent communication with clients, manage client relationships, and interact with utility owners to ensure project schedules align with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Work independently and within project teams to meet client objectives while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review and perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) on agreements, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and invoices to ensure adherence to applicable rules and regulations.
- Conduct project records research, establish contacts with design and utility companies, prepare contact ledgers, and create utility conflict tracking reports.
- Contribute to the preparation of client deliverables, project guides, reviews, invoices, and reports, as well as engage in project monitoring and field verification when needed.
- Manage utility permitting, including preparation and submission, while monitoring project schedule progress.
- Verify and review Record (as-built) drawings.
- Generate project cost estimates.
- Support other design requirements as necessary.
- Coordinate with environmental sub-consultants.
Education and Experience Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) OR willingness to achieve Texas P.E. status within 6 months (if relocating).
- Over (6) six years of progressive engineering experience with a strong emphasis on land and site development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and HEC-RAS software.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic with keen attention to detail.
- Positive attitude, readiness to take initiative, effective coordination with team members, adaptability to changing requirements, accountability for mistakes, and a willingness to seek guidance when necessary.
- Ability to excel in high-pressure situations, manage priorities, and meet deadlines for multiple concurrent projects.
- Adept at participating and collaborating within project teams, showcasing creative and critical thinking, and effectively conveying ideas, design challenges, and solutions.
- Proven organizational skills, and proactive time management capabilities.
- Strong inclination to learn and tackle new project types.
- Capability to identify technical issues and proactively address them using professional judgment, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
