Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a preconstruction manager to estimate internal and external resources accurately for minor, refresh and new capital deals. The individual must have demonstrated ability to project manage, influence others, and succeed across a large, multi-dimensional, organization. The preconstruction manager is responsible for up front planning, budget creation, and preliminary schedules prior to delivering the project to the construction team to then bid and build. This role will focus on taking ownership to resolve upstream issues and support the construction team throughout the execution process.
- Estimate cost, scope and time to accurately budget funds and resources needed for project success
- Independently manages difficult, Champs, Foot Locker and KFL builds from site selection through design completion and lease execution
- Coordinate between internal and external project development teams to develop a project plan and manage the execution, ensuring all partner teams are performing required actions at the appropriate time
- Work with design team to value engineer scope as needed to meet budget constraints
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the preconstruction phase of projects
- Where appropriate, engage with design, construction and permitting manager for schedule durations
- Create and manage precon reporting and dashboards in Power BI and Smartsheet.
- Provide meeting minutes and dashboard metrics to cross functional partners for visibility, to ensure alignment and review action items
- Keep the project scope under control and accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, identifying, and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately
- Complete after-action reviews and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Monitor the accuracy of access database for project timelines
- Manage and create metrics pulled from existing and new databases
- Host post completion meetings to review budget vs. actual budget assessments
- Contribute to development of precon and construction standards to create process controls and improve overall quality
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Retail Construction or General Contracting
- Must be an advanced level user of Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work independently
- No travel required
The annual base salary range is $85,000 - $100,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
