Job Description: Rathe Associates is seeking an energetic person to join our mechanical engineering team in the project management role. It is an entry level role designed to develop knowledge and experience. Today's role largely focuses on project management, but through the critical lens of a mechanical engineer. Additionally, functions include design & support, as well as project estimation. Ultimately the ideal candidate will eventually transition to a business development position. Business development includes looking for business opportunities, engaging with customers, and maintaining relationships.

Who We Are Looking For: The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate equipment for a project is ordered and delivered to site. You will critically assess and double check consulting engineers plans and make sure that what we provide will accurately lead to a successful project. You will work up system designs, equipment selections, piping and wiring schematics, proposals, provide technical support, develop leads for the outside sales team to follow up with, and more. Your efforts will have direct impacts on our business in both developing new customers as well as supporting existing ones. We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with customers and has an outgoing personality.

How You Will Benefit From This Role

  • You will sharpen and develop your design and troubleshooting skills. A lot of the role involves helping our customers come up with solutions to their problems.
  • This role can also develop sales skills. No matter what you do in life, sales skills are essential. Even something as simple as convincing a group of people why you should all eat at one restaurant over another.
  • You will develop strong research skills. We often need to come up with solutions for customers that are not straightforward. We research solutions in a variety of ways to help out our customers.
  • Rathe Associates is a small business with 30 employees. At that size, we are an established business with a strong customer base. However, we are still small. The benefit here is you often wear many hats and develop a wide variety of skills and understanding of how businesses work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop proposals for custom Commercial Projects.
  • Work with mechanical and plumbing engineers to help design projects.
  • Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
  • Technical support on the phone and emails.
  • Develop custom project drawings for our customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree of mechanical engineering from an accredited university.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
  • Prepared to take on new challenges and learn things on the fly.
  • Outgoing personality and comfort with speaking with new people.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
