Position:Project Manager
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 3 Months
Purpose of Position:
The Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, and control of large complex enterprise projects. This role involves organizing work into manageable plans, obtaining Executive Staff approval for project scope, budget, schedule, and plan, assembling the project team, assigning individual responsibilities, developing project schedules, and ensuring the project meets planned business objectives within budgetary and schedule limitations. The Project Manager communicates project status to senior management or functional area management and may oversee the activities of other Project Managers and leads. Evaluation of project results against business strategies and objectives is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage mission-critical, complex projects or programs to achieve results within authorized budgets and approved schedules.
- Control and manage the defined scope of work, adjusting as necessary to deliver results.
- Develop objective measures for evaluating project effectiveness.
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing projects across various specialty areas.
- Exercise independent judgment in employing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve project results based on specific project needs, risks, and team skill levels.
- Manage all cross-functional aspects of projects to deliver defined deliverables within authorized budgets and approved schedules.
- Create, implement, and manage project plans, business requirement documents, communication plans, test plans, and other project documents.
- Delegate and manage tasks among functional core team members, resolving resource issues promptly.
- Provide leadership to overcome barriers, resolve conflicts, and ensure realistic and achievable project goals and staff assignments.
- Drive teams towards excellence in analysis and decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and the production of expected deliverables throughout the project life cycle phases.
- Direct the assembly of project team(s), assign responsibilities, identify appropriate resources, and develop schedules to ensure timely project completion.
- Regularly communicate project status, issues, earned value, and recovery plans to functional managers, Project Management Steering Committee Members, Executive Sponsor, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain project control books and logs.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions and issue closing reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in Project Management and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
- Strong technical, analytical, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio), PeopleSoft ELM, and other relevant systems.
Pay Range: (USD)29.86 hourly - (USD)54.58 hourly
