Position Overview

This Project Manager will be responsible for working across the organization to establish processes for infrastructure projects including cabling, networking, wireless, circuits, servers etc. The Project Manager serves as intake for customer questions and relays issues to appropriate PMO personnel and field resources. Work will include, but not be limited to, processing and tracking projects, managing project reports, and providing customer support.

TheProject Manager is primarily responsible for:

• Assist in the management of day to day operational activities for a portfolio of projects across infrastructure customers at Zones.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Assist in the adherence to safety protocols and ensure all installations meet safety and compliance regulations specific to client sites.
• Quality Assurance: Assist in enforcing the client's established quality standards for installations and ensure compliance with industry best practices and relevant codes.
• Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, status reports, change orders, network diagrams, and other relevant records.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes, select reliable partners, and manage their performance throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure vendors adhere to project schedules and quality standards.
• Budget Control: Assist in the development and management of project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions are implemented without compromising project quality or timelines.
• Network Design and Architecture: Work closely with network engineers to review network designs and architecture that meet the clients' requirements for performance, scalability, and security.
• Train the client's SOPs in the onboarding of new field team members.
• Resource Management: Assist in the allocation and management of resources effectively to ensure the project is adequately staffed with skilled network engineers, technicians, and support personnel.
• Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project reviews to assess project success, identify areas for improvement, and document lessons learned for future projects.
• Responsible for providing weekly status reports detailing financial performance, issues, & corrective actions.
• Assist in the management of project expectations with team members and other stakeholders, including the customer Project Manager, through regular and proactively scheduled meetings.
• Oversight and management of equipment installation and coordination of technical teams.
• Recommend improvements to processes, implementation technical procedures based on understanding of technology.

We are seeking candidates with the following experience and skills

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year experience serving in a project management capacity. A minimum of four (4) years of hands-on project management experience can replace the educational requirement.
• Strong attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Experience working in at least one interrelated departmental project.
• Proven experience effectively interacting with customers, including relationship building.
• Ability to work with customer management team to provide status and set expectations to ensure project success.
• Ability to use PMI methods in work products/project execution including change management, risk management, and issues management.
• Negotiation skills to achieve coordination and results.
• Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of managing all project phases.
• Ability to manage changes effectively and proactively in regard to project scope.
• Experience with, or managing projects with, field-based deliverables, and practical experience with concepts such as technician utilization, ticket backlog, and workload balancing.
• Ability to proactively develop and implement strategies that significantly mitigate risk.
• Ability to work and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
• Need to obtain or have obtained PMP Certification upon hire
