Position Summary:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various projects and initiatives within our business to optimize product launch and/or production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products. This role is crucial in driving the plant's success and maintaining a competitive edge in the industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Plan, execute, and close projects related to manufacturing operations, including process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and new product introductions.
- Develop project scopes, objectives, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the plant's strategic goals.
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various departments, including production, engineering, quality control, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Foster effective communication and cooperation among team members to achieve project goals.
- Resource Allocation:
- Allocate and manage resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to ensure the successful execution of projects.
- Monitor and control project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
- Proactively address any issues that may impact project timelines and deliverables.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains.
- Implement best practices and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the plant.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Prepare regular progress reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that all projects comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to maintain product quality.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to project teams, promoting a high-performance work environment.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager (and/or Account Management) in a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Automation or Material Handling Industry, OEM and/or major account experience is preferred. Industrial Automation and/or warehouse solutions experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality control principles.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Travel to customer, supplier, and CVG locations - up to 20% annually.
