Job description

Position Objective: Provide services as a Finance Project Manager (Part-Time) in support of the overall functions of the Vaccine Research Center (VRC), Associate Director for Management and Operations (ADMO) within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific and financial expertise needed to manage, design, and implement financial procedures related to scientific programs.

  • Create, analyze, and maintain system data for scientific financial program planning.

  • Collaborate with upper management for new and ongoing program activities and changes.

  • Evaluate current scientific financial accounts to determine and implement required modifications.

  • Develop common account group codes for tracking fiscal year financial reporting used by senior leaders.

  • Develop and revise financial files for multi-purpose organizational views.

  • Provide troubleshooting on the use of financial planning files.

  • Assist with developing financial tools to enuse cost are controlled.

  • Assist in financial project reporting and coding of projects.

  • Research new trends in financial project management and related technologies for implementation.

  • Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project(s).

    Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a biological science related field.

  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of related experience.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with non-technical and technical staff.

  • Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects
