Title: Project Lead/Consultant - Chemical Industry Focus

Contract Duration: 12 - 18 months +
Rate: $100-120/hour 1099
Travel: Up to 20%
Responsibilities: As a Project Lead/Consultant specializing in the Chemical Industry, your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage large-scale engagements aimed at optimizing our client’s internal processes to drive efficiency and speed to market. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather data, perform in-depth analysis, and provide valuable insights. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supplier Analysis and Management: Lead thorough assessments of current and potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, performance, and overall value to the organization. Identify opportunities to improve supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and develop strategic partnerships.
2. Raw Materials Optimization: Analyze the quality, availability, and pricing of raw materials used in chemical manufacturing processes. Identify alternatives or more cost-effective sources without compromising quality or compliance.
3. Process Optimization and Streamlining: Lead efforts to understand existing processes across various departments including R&D, operations, procurement, and production, and identify areas for improvement. Propose and oversee implementation of process streamlining initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
4. Data-driven Decision Making: Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets related to suppliers, raw materials, production costs, and market trends. Utilize data-driven insights to make informed decisions and provide recommendations to management.
5. Cost Reduction Initiatives: Develop and oversee implementation of cost reduction strategies while ensuring quality standards are maintained. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of cost-saving measures.
6. Risk Management: Assess potential risks related to suppliers, raw materials, and supply chain disruptions. Proactively identify potential issues and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
7. Reporting and Presentation: Prepare and present comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate analysis findings and recommendations to key stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Project Lead/Consultant in the chemicals industry, with a focus on leading and managing large-scale engagements involving supplier and raw materials analysis.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using relevant tools such as Excel, SQL, or other data analysis software.
- Experience with SAP PLM or relevant systems preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data sets.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
