Based in Irvine, California, you'll have the chance to perform geologic and engineering geology investigations supporting the design of foundation systems, retaining structures and slopes for transportation, water, and other infrastructure projects for both public and private clients. In addition to supporting and leading field investigations, you will assist in the preparation of technical reports, data reports and baseline reports. Office related work would consist of geologic map and cross section preparation, boring log finalization, report writing, stereo-paired aerial photograph evaluation, health and safety plan preparation, and support during procurement of subcontractors.
Field assignments will include observation of explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing, well construction); geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; and inspection of the construction of geotechnical structures (earth retaining structures, deep foundations, dams, tunnels, and shallow foundations), as well as oversight of subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs. Field work will also include geologic mapping assignments in a variety of environments, from structural footing excavations to existing cutslopes to native areas in both urban and remote areas.

Bachelor's degree in geology
5-8 years of experience in geologic/geotechnical investigations and studies
Flexibility to travel for office and field assignments
Strong field leadership skills
Experience in geologic evaluations, map and cross section preparation, soil and rock classification and mapping, report preparation support
Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Hired applicants will be able to purchase company stock and have the opportunity to receive a performance discretionary bonus. The base salary range for this position is $65,700 to $102,600. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
