A Southern California-based EHS consulting firm seeks a full-time Senior ProjectEngineer / Geologist / Scientist to help the senior leadership team grow the Engineering & Environmental Sciences Group and manage high-profile Engineering and Environmental Science related projects, including subsurface soil, soil gas, and groundwater investigations and remediation of same through Site closure. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial outlook on their work, will have successfully managed projects from inception through completion, and prides themselves on their ability to mentor junior staff.

This group is poised for significant growth and needs to fill certain roles to keep up with this growth. The successful Senior-Level Manager will possess significant environmental experience and be able to pass on that experience to a younger team for the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives.
  • Predict resource needs and manage resources effectively.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Provide technical oversight and quality control.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Monitor project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks.
  • Conduct and prepare Phase II Environmental Investigations including VI, methane and landfills, design and manage the remediation process
  • Manage projects to ensure they are successfully completed on time and within budget, travelling and schedule flexibility may be required at times to accomplish this key aspect of the role.
  • Grow, develop, and mentor staff.
  • Engage in business development and networking activities to grow the business.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering, Geology or related field required. MS is preferred.
  • Possess 10-20 years of progressive experience providing environmental consulting expertise to a wide range of industry sectors and client demands.
  • PE, PG, CHMM and/or QSD Certification preferred.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred.
  • Management of projects and mentoring of staff and limited business development experience required.
  • Significant experience conducting/preparing Phase II Environmental Investigations including VI, methane and landfills and designing and managing the remediation process.
  • Self-Starter and responsiveness are a must.
  • Knowledge of construction management, blueprints, proficient with MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel skills. Experience with CADD, Rockworks, gINT, Revit or other similar programs desired
  • Should possess good communication, organizational skills, and time management practices
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Good physical health and ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment, including respirators.
