Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full Time- Project Finance Coordinatorthatwill support with FEMA and other State and Local contract management. This position will work hand-in-hand with the state/local government, private, and non-profit representatives to guide them through the FEMA and other grant funding process, including but not limited to reporting and fiscal requirements.
IEM’s Project Finance Coordinator is responsible for assisting applicants with implementing and managing finances and accounting and providing assistance and service for their corresponding team.
The Project Finance Coordinator has demonstrated experience applying rules, contractual requirements, and regulations to situations encountered within the respective financial program. They understand and can discuss the application and implication of changes to the rules, regulations, and process changes within their areas of expertise. The successful candidate must be capable of coaching the Finance Analysts as well as assist in the development of reference and resource materials.
Primary Location:
- Candidate must be able and willing to work in Denver, CO.
- Position will work at an in-person worksite, with the potential to work from home at a later date based on client needs. If this role goes to a remote position in the future you would need to maintain internet speeds capable of performing the work.
Essential Functions:
- Provide regulatory and compliance reviews concerning Federal and Local Programs.
- Prepare and review deliverables.
- Prepare, review, and submit invoices, expense reports, and other financial requirements as assigned.
- Prepare and examine the completeness of financial statements.
- Validate reports, statements, and other accounting information.
- Examine assigned accounting documents to verify the accuracy of computations and uniform application of policies.
- Evaluate complex financial reports and records.
- Provide advice and direction to other accountants.
- Review and certify financial capacity reports.
- Review valuation analyses and reports.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for reimbursement purposes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Current Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to use analytical skills to interpret and evaluate information.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of program information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related areas.
- Three (3) years of financial experience.
- Compliance and monitoring experience in federally funded programs.
- Must be able to work within deadlines and prioritize work.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) as well as analytical skills are needed as this position will require reporting and talking with team members regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of financial experience.
- Experience working on FEMA-funded projects.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with various stakeholders and entities.
