Project Accountant

HEI Civil, Inc. is a full-service civil construction company. We offer a full range of construction services, including heavy civil highway construction, commercial, residential, oil field, site development, dams and reservoirs, parks, and golf courses.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Accountantto join our team in our Castle Rock, CO office. The Project Accountantwill work under the direction of the Senior Project Accountant.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Upload Owner Change Orders from the estimating software into the accounting ERP system and review for proper gross profit percentages.

• Apply for and track Tax Exemption Certificates.

• Review all project invoices for proper Sales & Use taxes.

· Process job cost adjustments.

· Analyze project costs incurred against budget for potential fades or gains.

· Be reliable support for PMs for job cost inquires and provide project cost analysis monthly.

· Assist with month-end process

· Assist with future project closeouts.

• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, energetic, and dynamic office.

• Capacity to handle many different deadlines.

• Strong customer service orientation with a positive attitude.

Education and Experience

• Associate Degree in Accounting minimum.

• 1+ years of AIA billing or Project Accounting, preferably in Construction or similar industry.

• Hands-on experience in operating excel spreadsheets.

• Viewpoint or Spectrum experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

• Office-based work with varying temperatures.

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Salary: Starting at $70,000, based on experience
