Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic project engineer to join our project engineering team at our Mississauga Plant. The selected candidate will work on various projects involving close collaboration with many departments such as operations, maintenance, quality control, health and safety, logistics, etc. The work will be in both the plants and the corporate office.
Principal Responsibilities
Responsible for various modifications to facilities, equipment, and buildings
Plan and manage the installation and commissioning phases in our plants, while ensuring that the corporate health and safety standards are observed.
Ensure the quality, safety and conformity of work and equipment, before and after delivery and installation.
Follow the financial situation of the projects and help in justifying projects.
Assist in the continuous improvement of the methods of the Project Engineering Department.
Attend process improvement projects
Participate in the equipment purchasing process. Meet with suppliers, analyze proposals, and make recommendations on the solution choices.
Analyze problems and opportunities
Find and define the best solutions to implement
Act as an agent of change in the department and the plants
Qualifications & experience
3+ years of progressive experience in engineering, in a manufacturing environment or in a related field.
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or electrical, chemical, and similar engineering directions
Member of the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario (PEO) an asset
Able to travel within North America approximately 30% of the time.
Hold a valid driver's license in Ontario or the one applicable to be used in Ontario.
Knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding equipment would be an asset.
Experience with CAD applications and MS Office.
