Job description

This Project Coordinator Senior position will oversee the procedural matters related to the Utah Pyramid Model project. The responsibilities of the position are to plan and coordinate the day-to-day project, administrative, and/or operational activities necessary to meet the requirements of current and future contracts/grants funding the Pyramid Model Project.

 

The UPM is a statewide effort to implement the Pyramid Model system of personnel development to support the work of early care and education professionals. The primary purpose of Pyramid Model practices is to develop a high quality foundational workforce that supports social emotional development with children birth to five, prevent and reduce challenging behaviors, and support children with persistent challenging behaviors and their families with individualized intensive interventions.

  • Act as the Principal Investigator (PI) directing the UPM as required by the current and future contracts/grants.
  • Train and direct full-time benefited employees as well as hourly employees, graduate students, and/or volunteers.
  • Fiscal management of contract/grant budgets including sub-awards/contracts.
  • Plan and coordinate day-to-day aspects of UPM project. Monitors the progress and status of project; ensuring that project goals are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Writes, edits, and coordinates development of UPM procedures/process, website, promotional materials, training manuals, newsletters, and/or brochures, as appropriate to the project.
  • Writes and/or assists with writing grants and proposals as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the project; may participate in other fundraising activities.
  • Act as the Chair of the Utah Pyramid Model State Leadership Team.
  • Collects and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and special reports; maintains program records and statistical information to meet state and federal requirements.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a minimum of four years of relevant work in the field of early care and education (classroom and home settings) with children birth-five and their families and project implementation or;
  • Master’s degree in a related field plus two years of relevant work in the field of early care and education (classroom and home settings) with children birth-five and their families and project implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D or Professional Doctorate in a related field plus two years of relevant work in the field of early care and education (classroom and home settings) with children birth-five and their families and project implementation.
  • Experience implementing Pyramid Model or other similar evidence-based practices in early care and education settings.
  • Knowledge and experience in using Implementation Science to embed evidence-based practices and research into early care and education systems of services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to implement a project/program from start to finish.
  • Knowledge of Implementation Science.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments including directing the work of others
  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.

$58,160- $77,530 Commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits

The Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) is Utah’s federally designated University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD). The IDRPP opened its doors in 1972 and was the first UCEDD program in the U.S. to focus on the educational and social needs of children and adults with disabilities. Funding Statement

The Institute for Disability Research, Policy, & Practice is one of the largest research and outreach centers at USU, and we are largely funded through grants, contracts, and fee-for-service programs. All staff positions at the IDRPP are contingent upon funding, and all senior staff at the IDRPP with graduate degrees are responsible for helping to generate funding to support our operations and growth.
