Salary: $95,000-$110,000

The primary duties of this position include successful leadership of multiple projects and key client relationships for projects in our Energy, Transmission and Distribution group

  • YMC is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support key client relationships and projects for the Energy, Transmission and Distribution
  • The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for scheduling activities and planning including concepts and principles that effect financial performance
  • Project Controls Specialist will support all aspects of scheduling throughout the project life cycle
  • The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional and satisfactory relationship with the Owner, subcontractors, regulatory agencies and other project stakeholders.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support schedule development
  • Develop and submit project execution plan, month schedule updates and manage all change management meetings
  • Perform constant analysis of schedule to identify project schedule variances
  • Collect and update data to produce accurate schedule reports
  • Assist in development of WBS and schedule logic to implement applicable project coding efforts for procurement, engineering, and financial system
  • Work with project team to accurately represent change orders or project impacts in the project schedule
  • Lead project schedule meetings and change order meetings.
  • Understand scheduling concepts (i.e. resource loading, cost loading, sequencing, bassline schedule, total float, percent complete, constraints, critical path, predecessors, successors, near critical paths, etc.)
  • Knowledge of scope control and change management
  • Demonstrated an ability to incorporate direct changes to schedule baseline
  • Knowledge with Earned Value methodology
  • Familiar with contracting agreement and scheduling impact or implications on contract terms
  • Support monthly reporting to leadership
  • Qualifications:
  • BA / BS plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and or experience preferred
  • Understand specification and project design to implement schedule
  • Management and maintenance of WBS coding experience
  • Experience with schedule development of Government, Technical and/or Infrastructural construction projects
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.

Under the supervision of the Design Standards Unit Manager and the Assistant Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for code review supporting services of Tenant Alteration Application (TAA) task. Specific responsibilities include: monitoring TAA status, various report preparations, monitoring charge codes, preparations for presentations, Request for Proposals (RFP), TAA review budget estimating and purchase order (PO), managing code library, assisting in information gathering, preparing reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and reviewing databases for the Quality Assurance Division.

1. Expertise in procedures for handling, filling, and transfer of engineering and confidential documents

2. A minimum of five years’ experience in project control, budget and financial performance, records management and/or scheduling in an architectural or engineering firm

3. Interpersonal and effective communication skills, both oral and written, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint

4. Demonstrate ability to work independently

5. Good organizational skills and work ethics

6. Bachelor’s Degree


Experience:


  • Large Portfolio: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Cost analysis: 3 years (Required)
  • Gas or Electric: 3 years (Required)
  • Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)


License/Certification:


  • PMP (Preferred)
