Position SummaryThis part-time temporary position will work with the Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET) and report to the MCET Director. The Program Specialist position will provide administrative support for the environmental, health, and safety programs. The position requires a practical understanding of the objectives, policies, procedures, and planning pertinent to MCET. Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Provide administrative service and support related to the close out of classes including registrations, evaluation summaries, travel expenses, training certificates, and transcripts. Coordinate and manage social media, website updates, and Constant Contact.Support program to ensure all project deliverables are moving forward according to an established timeframe, that communication flows with minimal direction between the providers and/or trainers and the targeted audience, and that all records of all activities are maintained appropriately.Assist with on-site training delivery and/or courses to register participants, assist clients, support instructors, and support training outreach.Verify information using Colleague and Lumens; use accurate information for input to CSM and MCET-specific systems, establish sections, run reports and rosters as needed, and update and maintain internal databases.Manage day-to-day workflow of MCET office; maintain standard operating procedures.Provide information to trainees, employers, and students about program and courses available.Maintain working relationships with the Continuing Education Departments of Maryland Community Colleges.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related work as required to support MCET program and activities. Minimum Education and TrainingAA degree or equivalent, with one year of experience in environmental, health, or safety field, preferred.Detailed record keeping, reporting, and planning skills.Excellent customer service skills. Minimum Qualifications and Standards RequiredAbility to manage fast paced work environment while paying attention to details.Excellent communication and organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in multi-cultural environment.Ability to use MS Office & Adobe applications at an intermediate/advanced level.Maintenance of insurability under the college's vehicle liability insurance plan.
Physical Requirements:
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
