Job description

We Are Hiring:
  • Department: Clinical Experience
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hour shift
  • Location: Fully remote
What You Will Do:
The Program Manager, Quality & Safety is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the implementation of quality management and patient safety initiatives within the IT healthcare environment. This role involves managing programs and projects aimed at improving the quality of care, patient outcomes, and safety standards across healthcare IT systems and processes. The Program Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, including clinical staff, IT professionals, and stakeholders, to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Quality and Safety Program Development:
    • Implement strategic programs and initiatives focused on improving quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance within healthcare IT systems and processes.
  • Program Planning and Strategy:
    • Assist the Portfolio leader in implementing program strategy, goals, and objectives in collaboration with key stakeholders and senior management.
    • Accountable for delivery of program scope, deliverables, milestones, and success criteria to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
    • Create and maintain program plans, timelines, and budgets to guide program execution and monitor progress.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership:
    • Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, including project managers, team leads, and subject matter experts, to achieve program objectives.
    • Provide guidance, direction, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
    • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between different teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and synergy.
  • Resource Management and Allocation:
    • Identify program resource requirements, including personnel, equipment, and budget, and coordinate resource allocation accordingly.
    • Monitor resource utilization and workload distribution to optimize efficiency and productivity across projects within the program.
    • Manage program budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and financial goals.
  • Risk Management and Issue Resolution:
    • Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies within the program and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
    • Proactively monitor and address program risks and issues, working closely with stakeholders and project teams to ensure timely resolution.
    • Implement change management processes to address scope changes, deviations from plans, and other factors affecting program delivery.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of quality and safety programs and initiatives.
    • Monitor program performance, track progress against goals, and prepare regular reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
What You Will Need:
Education:
  • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's
    degree/Bachelor's degree with 2 years of cumulative experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences:
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Health Informatics, or related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) is required.
  • Proven experience in program management, quality improvement, or patient safety roles within the healthcare industry, with a focus on IT systems and processes.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, with proficiency in project management software (e.g., ServiceNow, MS Project, JIRA).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to quality management, patient safety, and risk management.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex programs and initiatives within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of healthcare IT systems, electronic health records (EHR), and health information exchange (HIE) technologies is highly desirable.
