Work Arrangement
Onsite -- This position requires the employee to be onsite full time. Work location is Warren, Michigan.
The Role
The Program Manager in Pre-Production Operations leads the fabrication process for all sheet metal parts and tooling made at MTS (Machining, Tooling & Stamping). This person is responsible for planning, coordinating, and establishing schedules for manufacturing activities to meet all program and non-traditional request material requirement deadlines. Additionally, candidate is expected to coordinate input from both internal and external customers to better understand requirements from MTS.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain workload tracking, and execution planning parts
- Collaborate with program engineering team members on all geometry and trim changes
- Create shopping carts in SAP for direct and indirect material orders
- Generate part requisitions in Engineering Material system (EMS)
- Work effectively and cooperatively with diverse individuals including salaried, hourly, skilled and contract personnel
- Learn and implement the principles of GMS. (Global Manufacturing system)
- Support shop floor to develop their workplace organization, continuous improvements, built-in-quality, problem solving, layered audits, safety observation tours, etc.
- Lead, problem solve, and facilitate weekly production team meetings
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 3+ years professional experience in manufacturing industry
- Proven experience working cross functional with procurement, quality and other stakeholders necessary to execute a program
- Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams)
- College degree in engineering, business or equivalent training

- Familiarity of tooling and manufacturing processes
- Experience in stamping, tooling, and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of GMS (Global Manufacturing System) principles
