Pay Range

$104,910 - 130,236 Annually

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Telecommuting/Hybrid options are available for this position.

Job Description

We are looking for a Program Manager for the  Livermore Laboratory Employee Services Association, Inc. (LLESA) within the Employee Engagement Division of the Human Resources Directorate.  Under minimal direction, you will assist in the management of the full scope of LLESA work-life programs for LLESA members (LLNS employees, Sandia employees, retirees, and contractors). The work-life program includes lab-wide engagement events, off-site convenience services, online virtual activities, educational offerings, summer student engagement activities, special events and member support groups. You will independently plan and execute work-life events and other programs.

In this role you will:

  • Assess, develop, implement, communicate, organize, and administer a wide range of work-life special events, programs and services for employees and other members.
  • Participate in the development of LLESA's vision, mission, strategy, and business direction.
  • Prepare funding requests and payment vouchers within established budget; and provide input and recommendations on allocation and prioritization of financial resources.
  • Initiate, lead and execute multiple projects with new and changing requirements/parameters.  
  • Act as a liaison with external vendors, interpret client needs and solutions, and interact with all levels of LLNL personnel in the execution of programs and services to resolve issues.
  • Plan facility use and program procedures to ensure the safety of clients and program participants.
  • Partner with LLNL organizations to develop and market collaborative work-life programs, including the creation and distribution of marketing materials to inspire program participation.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual team building activities, while collecting and analyzing post-activity metrics such as program participation and customer satisfaction to report to management. Recommend changes as needed.
  • Provide back-up and support to other Program Manager in oversight of LLESA fitness programs.
  • Represent LLESA on various institutional committees and working groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and s in accordance with ES&H, security, and business practice requirements and policies.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE L-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related experience.         
  • Experience in and complete knowledge and understanding of planning, organizing, and executing multiple projects and special events for a large company or organization.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills necessary to advise, recommend, and approve appropriate actions and implement solutions.
  • Experience marketing and promoting programs, services, and events.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience working within the parameters of an established budget.
  • Experience developing and implementing service operations procedures, methods and practices.
  • Experience understanding liability exposure and compliance with insurance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, both in-person and virtual.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as use of graphics and database skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation Administration, Business, and/or Marketing.
  • Experience developing performance measures and analyzing data outcomes for ongoing programs, practices, operations, and activities.
  • Knowledge of and experience with techniques, concepts, methods, and compliance in health/fitness/recreation industry standards, including safety procedures and equipment utilized in the administration and delivery of fitness and employee service programs.
  • Proficiency with website design and web-conferencing tools.

Security Clearance

This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) L-level clearance.  If you are selected, we will initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if you meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.  Also, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing.  L-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
