Job Description Summary:
The George Washington Cancer Center (GW Cancer Center) is part of the George Washington University and part of a globally recognized academic medical center that embraces the challenge of eliminating health disparities and transforming health care to enrich and improve the lives of those we serve. GW Cancer Center incorporates all cancer-related activities at GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences, GW Medical Faculty Associates, GW Hospital, GW Milken Institute School of Public Health, and serves as a platform to refocus and re-energize the university's efforts in cancer research and patient care. Dr. Pratt-Chapman's lab is seeking a Program Manager of Education and Training to join the Technical Assistance team. The Program Manager, Education and Training works with a team to track evolving evidence in cancer prevention and control to develop and evaluate tailored training opportunities for public health and health care professionals.
We are seeking a dynamic Program Manager, Education and Training to support the GW Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) Technical Assistance Program. This position reports to the Associate Director of CCC Technical Assistance, who reports to the Associate Director, Community Outreach, Engagement, and Equity. Projects include comprehensive cancer control Education and Training production and national technical assistance to state departments of health, tribes and territories.
The Program Manager, Education and Training will develop, implement, and evaluate training and education components offered by the Comprehensive Cancer Control Technical Assistance program at the GW Cancer Center. Working closely with leadership and faculty within the program, this position keeps the CCC Technical Assistance team updated on innovative approaches to adult education. The Program Manager, Education and Training also works with internal and external audiences to apply these approaches to our technical assistance and Training portfolio which seeks to advance health equity to reduce the burden of cancer across the United States and its affiliated jurisdictions. This position will transition existing static resources to interactive, evergreen, user-friendly resources and will plan, implement, and optimize evaluation of redesigned tools to maximize reach, increase usability, evaluate and measure uptake by target audience(s). The Program Manager, Education and Training works under limited supervision and trains and supervises temporary staff or student workers, or leads other program staff to carry out Education and Training goals. The duties and goals of this role are linked to the success of the cooperative agreement.
Duties:
- Solicits and integrates partner input from cancer control and public health professionals into the design process of training resources.
- Implements redesign training resources to be more usable and dynamic through the use of several content platforms, including EthosCE, an online Learning Management System.
- Works closely to recruit and communicate with subject matter experts to provide content for training and review materials for accuracy.
- Responsible for tracking, monitoring, maintaining, updating, and submitting accreditation applications along with evaluation and reporting.
- Works with evaluation lead to measure reach and evaluate effectiveness of technical assistance and health education training resources to effect individual and systems level change within public health and health care settings.
- Provides content and data for public-facing reports and technical assistance resources, such as annual reports and other technical assistance educational resources.
- Identifies innovative approaches to adult Education and guides team members to build comprehensive cancer control capacity for creating individual and systems level change to achieve equitable cancer outcomes.
- Incorporates equity in all aspects of the position, from engaging with internal and external partners, to developing training materials.
- Remains up-to-date in evidence-based strategies to cancer prevention and control to incorporate into training materials.
- Identifies evidence-based and innovative strategies to optimize a health equity lens in Comprehensive Cancer Control coalition and program outreach.

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Experience working in a cancer center or cancer control program.
- Knowledge of cancer patient navigation, cancer screening, cancer survivorship, policy and systems change, evidence-based cancer control, coalition-building, adult-learning theory, results based assessment, and knowledge translation theory.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Excellent organizational skills given coordination of multidisciplinary teams, various logistical components, and data acquisition.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

- Willingness to learn and further develop skills reflective of best practices and trends in the field.
- Solid working knowledge of relevant software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Google Workspace.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Audition, Photoshop, Captivate and/or similar content creation tools.
- Demonstrated experience with educational evaluation and assessment.
- Demonstrated experience generating data reports, graphs, and narrative describing evaluation results.
- Experience with learning management systems, online training modules and content creation for educational purposes.
