Senior Program Manager
$130,000.00 To 185,000.00 Annually
Oceanside, CA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Always ensure the company has a positive, ethical image with all customers, even under adverse conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual terms and conditions, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), company policies, and other applicable laws or regulations.
- Manage assigned projects and programs to strict cost, schedule, and scope requirements as determined by the contract to achieve desired profit targets. Act as the single point-of-contact (POC) for all project-related communications and decisions.
- Prepare Project Management Plans based on staff input and past performance benchmarks to create schedules, materials budgets, labor budgets, and expected resource requirements to complete on-time and on-budget.
- Monitor assigned projects regularly against plan to compare actual performance vs. plan and make necessary changes and adjustments to achieve project goals.
- Maintain continuous, proactive communication with customers to keep them informed, on a weekly basis at a minimum, or as required by the contract or situation.
- Manage new design efforts within the engineering group to ensure compliance with technical specifications without scope creep, schedule, or budget overruns.
- Be flexible and agile when dealing with technical challenges and be prepared to modify designs and design plans, if necessary, to achieve customer requirements within cost, schedule, and scope.
- Manage customer expectations regarding technical scope – be prepared to request additional funding via Sales if the customer increases scope.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports, detailing progress, and costs for senior management.
- Works in conjunction with the Sales group in preparing responses to requests for proposals (RFP’s), requests for information (RFI’s), or other project-related sales and business development efforts.
- Make recommendations to improve and manage projects, project frameworks, and development of improved reporting tools that deliver value in the policies and process
- Develop a knowledge base to assist in the development, coaching, training, and oversight of the other PMs.
- An assigned mentor to other PMs in specific project management.
- Ensures company compliance in accordance with ISO 9001:2000 and AS9100.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
· Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a preference for a technical degree in Electrical or Mechanical; or a degree in Business Management and five years managing projects and programs in an electronics manufacturing environment. Must have Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Be familiar with Earned Value Management Systems. Ten years minimum experience with Department of Defense projects and Program Management. Successfully managed at least one program with a Tier 1/Tier 2 DoD Prime Contractor. Familiar with DoD contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations. Experienced with ISO9001 and AS9100 quality systems.
