Since 1974, Alpert Jewish Family Service (Alpert JFS), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, has strengthened and enriched the lives of men, women and children of all ages. We do this through a continuum of focused programs addressing the well-being of children and families of all ages, the independence and well-being of older adults, and the optimal quality of life for individuals with special needs.
Alpert JFS is looking for a strong Program Director/MSW to provides leadership, direction, and administration of the Holocaust Survivors Assistance Program in accordance with grant requirements and with agency policies and procedures. The Program Director/MSW will provide oversight and supervision to departmental staff and assist with program development, planning and reporting. This position will also be responsible for interpreting and overseeing the implementation and the administration of the Claims Conference grant for the Holocaust Survivor Assistance Program and will work closely with the program staff and senior leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting and procedural compliance.
Program Director/MSW Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Holocaust Survivors Administrative Supervisor, Case Managers, Grant Manager, and administrative staff.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and execution of a minimum of three socialization events per calendar year for clients by collaborating with marketing and development teams.
  • Work effectively with partner agencies as well as other organizations that provide assistance to Holocaust Survivors.
  • Navigate agency's electronic health records system to provide case management reports and tracking to Chief Program Officer and other members of Sr. Management when requested.
  • Complete intake of new Survivor applicants and identify and assign, if appropriate, to Care Manger.
  • Manage Claims Conference grant which includes but is not limited to:
  • Responsible for Implementing grant guidelines as indicated in the Claims Conference allocation letters (GG, Emergency Financial Assistance Grants, and other Holocaust Survivor grants)
  • Oversee the development of procedures and tools (spreadsheets) to carry out and monitor compliance with grant guidelines for efficient tracking of allocations
  • Monitor grant activities for program compliance
  • Direct supervision of the Grant Manager who monitors the homecare/cleaning spending allocations and all supplement funding
  • Direct oversight of the Grant Manager who oversees homecare and cleaning vendors that provide services to our Survivors ensuring billing is within the grant compliance and culture sensitivity is met
  • Data analysis and maintain oversight in the accuracy of data entry in the Claims Conference database (Diamond)
  • Reviews and approves supporting documentation prior to submission of quarterly reports
  • Oversees ongoing training to program vendors regarding grant requirements
  • Liaison with Marketing department to implement Alpert JFS community outreach to raise awareness of Survivor's needs, develop collateral, ensure social media outreach
  • Review spending, case management load, and compliance on a weekly basis with Chief Program Officer
  • Work closely with the CPO and CFO in monitoring expenditures
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the CPO Administrative Supervisor to discuss spending allocations, and updates/reviews
  • Facilitate monthly department advisory board meetings to address policies, and procedures, grant and funding updates
  • Provide program update for quarterly reports
  • Lead annual Claims Conference audit process
  • Provide leadership and effectively communicates status of allocation to appropriate staff
  • Provides leadership with the CPO in the preparation and oversight of Claims Conference program audit
  • Provide data to Claims Conference as requested
  • Assist with the coordination and attends Eat & Schmooze events, and any other specific Holocaust Survivor event
  • Provide CPO monthly program metrics.
  • Provide program presentations to the board, staff and the community when needed.
  • Manage all other grants pertaining to Holocaust program that includes but not limited to application process, following appropriate allocation guidelines, reports and providing oversight for audits.
  • Plans and facilitates in Holocaust program meetings.
  • Preparation of reports for management as requested.
  • Collaborate with Federation on any Holocaust community activities when requested.

Requirements
  • Graduate degree from an accredited School of Social Work preferred, or another Behavioral Mental Health program.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Professional knowledge and expertise with Holocaust Survivors.
  • Experience overseeing grant budgets (preferably 5M or more).
  • Experience with trauma informed care preferred.
  • Experience with geriatric and special populations.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with electronic health records systems.
  • A valid Florida driver's license is required and must have a good driving record and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to function independently.
  • Possess an understanding of and compatibility with Jewish values and traditions.
