We do this through a continuum of focused programs addressing the well-being of children and families of all ages, the independence and well-being of older adults, and the optimal quality of life for individuals with special needs.
Alpert JFS has an exciting full-time opportunity for a well-qualified Assistant Director/Clinical Supervisor working with the Behavioral Health team. The Assistant Director balances both administrative duties within the program, plus clinical supervision of the team. This role will uphold and champion the agency's mission, values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.
Assistant Director/Clinical Supervisor Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical supervision and administrative management of the day-to-day operations of the agency's behavioral health department
  • Support the Program Director as the operations manager for the Behavioral Health Department to maximize client flow and client satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with the Behavioral Health Director, build, sustain and steward relationships geared towards fulfilling the agency mission pertaining to the mental health program with community members, officials, public and private organizations; this includes optimizing clinical service for the purposes of billing; application and implementation of grant programs; and other fundraising efforts.
  • Perform managerial duties to include interviewing applicants for employment; assigning and reviewing progress of assignments; conducting performance appraisals; and developing staff expertise.
  • Identify staff training needs and ensure development and implementation of programs that address needs.
  • Develop realistic and measurable objectives for behavioral health programs.
  • Measure progress against plans and stated goals as it applies to program documentation.
  • Review reports prepared by program staff to ensure all legal, contractual, and revenue-generating reports meet or exceed required agency and applicable regulatory agencies' standards.
  • Ensure all administrative documentation, including data submission, is accurate and submitted within the established timeframe, and analyze information and prepare routine reports including those used to assess performance.
  • Assist Program Director in the development of program budget and ensures expenditures comply with approved budgets.
  • Work with the Program Director to create and expand community service provider collaborations through partnerships and networking events and lead collaborative initiatives.
  • Provide leadership to program staff ensuring that the client services meet or exceed contractual performance goals; ensure delivery of services in accordance with contracted guidelines and Alpert JFS philosophies.
  • Responsible for supporting intake and behavioral health director in client clinician and funding assignments as well as in data collection and grant reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining high standards of quality care in a fashion that is cost effective and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and ethical regulations.
  • Oversee staff credentialing, re-certifications, and insurance panel submissions.
  • Monitor staff productivity and collaborate with staff to improve service delivery.
  • Responsible for maintaining and coordinating State certification, licensing, and quality standards of performance.
  • Manage crises and exceptional incidents.
  • Works with intake and director to manage waitlist and referrals and assign clients to funding source and clinician.
  • Recommends processes' changes and implements approved procedures to maximize workflow and operations' effectiveness.
  • Ensures policies are communicated and administered consistently across department.
  • Work with Quality Assurance Manager to conduct clinical QA/QI (Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement) activities designed to implement ways to improve agency's clinical care and operations.
  • Monitors adherence to HIPAA and OSHA regulations and takes appropriate action for non-compliance.
  • Review and evaluate clinical components of medical records in EHR software.
  • Works with credentialing to ensure timely provider documentation as to maximize reimbursement from 3rd party payers and works with billing department to monitor and support fee collections, and payments.
  • Participates in budget planning and supports director in monitoring the department's performance according to established budget and work with accounting to resolve any financial issues.
  • Analyzes weekly/monthly EHR data reports and follows up with staff to ensure that billing production is maximized.
  • Provides monthly service units, financial, and measurement/outcome reports to Director.
  • Communicate results to clinical staff to ensure effective utilization.
  • Provide direct clinical service to a limited caseload (average 5-10 clients a week).

Requirements
  • LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience, including a minimum of 4 years administrative experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct management experience.
  • Ability to improve productivity of staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to form relationships and work cooperatively with multiple levels of staff and as part of a team as well as with clients and the community
  • Superior clinical and management skills and experience grounded in best practices.
  • Effective department budgeting, reporting and fiscal management.
  • Familiar working with EHR software.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing, and to engage any individual regardless of background.
  • Leadership and critical thinking capabilities required.
  • Experience with various client populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Problem solving, analytical, communication and crisis management skills are necessary to assist clients and/or caregivers who may be in distress.
  • Anticipates challenges, identifies procedural shortfalls, recommends improvements, and recognizes future needs of the department.
