ResponsibilitiesServes as Director of the Group Mental Health Training Program with primary responsibility for program design and development and implementation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Responsible for planning, administering, reviewing and evaluating all activities related to the operation of the Group Mental Health Training Program.
Participates in recruitment/selection of FSU graduate student trainees, assists with trainee orientation and coordinates selection of training activities, including selection of evidence-based treatments, supervises training placements and training experiences for clinic-based Group Mental Health services, including intake assessments, treatment selection, treatment implementation, progress monitoring, and treatment summaries.
Provides direct Mental Health services for the clients and families referred to the MDC, including psychosocial assessments with parents and guardians, individual, group and family Mental Health counseling, and provides training and supervision for trainees in the implementation of these Mental Health services.
Develops evaluation procedures for trainee competencies, program training experiences, and program outcomes. Reviews performance expectations and performance evaluations with trainees and shares these results with the trainees’ academic programs. Provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of specialized service/research projects related to Mental Health counseling and Mental Health training.
Interacts regularly with the professional, administrative and support staff, and graduate student trainees involved at the MDC, interacts frequently with clients, parents, teachers, school personnel, and representatives of state agencies who make referrals to the MDC, and with FSU faculty and professional staff with shared training and service interests.
Within the parameters set forth by Florida Statutes, the state Department of Education, and the Florida State University administration, this Program Director, in collaboration with the Center Director and professional staff, participates in the formulation of policies and procedures relevant to the operation of the Center, especially the Group Mental Health training component.

QualificationsBachelor's degree and six years' experience related to health and human services or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)
Preferred QualificationsDoctorate in a Mental Health Field from an accredited college or university, preferably in a child clinical area, licensed in their field by the State of Florida. Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures of health, human services, and counseling programs. Knowledge of training and teaching methodology.
At least one year of experience providing supervision for the purposes of student educational requirements or post-educational licensure requirements.
