Job description

Reports to: Executive Director


Summary:
Professional with the ability to manage and supervise a great team, providing leadership to all youth and family program activities, including after-school and summer learning. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the program development and management of staff, outreach, budget preparation, and management. The Program Director should display excellent customer service skills and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members of the general public. The Program Coordinator will carry out the mission, vision, and values of the GPCDC in all contacts with staff, families, and government/local agencies.


Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads the Youth Programs department's future growth, improvement, and strategic planning with the supervisory team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to integrate Youth program contributions into the larger mission of the GPCDC and its programming through effective partnerships and strategic growth.
  • Develops, organizes, implements, and leads programs
  • Supervises staff
  • Abides by all state, local, and organizational laws, policies, and procedures
  • Adheres to written budgets to foster individual growth and development of GPCDC youth.
  • Manages, directs, and coordinates the daily operations of youth programs, including site and staff supervision, recruitment, and training.
  • Makes recommendations to enhance after-school operations, curriculum, staffing patterns, and professional development and ensures implementation of approved revisions.
  • Ensures the program operates within budget and collection of program fees, payment of vendors and consultants, and purchases of appropriate materials.
  • Reviews and reports on financial performance monthly compared to the approved budget, recommending corrective action if needed. Monitors all expenses, revenues, and Youth Program staff time to ensure adherence to the annual budget.
  • Oversees STEM After School Program, Youth Leadership Academy, Summer Educational Enrichment Program, W.I.R.E.D. for Success programs, and other youth-related programs.
  • Ensures Youth Programs, both Afterschool and Summer Camps, meet the high-quality standards of the GPCDC. Maintains appropriate staffing levels at all sites to provide continuity of services for participants. Ensures that participants receive nutrition and appropriate snacks as directed.
  • Monitors all After School and Summer Camp sites frequently to ensure a safe and secure environment for program participants. Follows all GPCDC policies and procedures, including safety procedures, at all times.
  • Coordinates in-service training to comply with GPCDC, CNP, and Food Bank requirements.
    Oversees the purchase and distribution of all Youth Program supplies.
  • Oversees the investigations of incidents and accidents of staff and clients at all Youth Program sites and reports and documents appropriately according to guidelines.
    Represents the Youth Programs department at internal and external meetings, training, and events. Provides administrative oversight to program components.
  • Represents the GPCDC at events for educational and promotional purposes.
  • Assists, participates, and attends our annual fundraising event.
  • Assists with identifying grants to fund various youth programs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
Associate’s Degree Bachelor’s degree required in a related field of study or three (3) years of related experience, preferably in Childcare administration or any Youth Education major, or equivalent combination and minimal experience. Must know community resources and budget management. Experienced as a facilitator and negotiator with excellent management and supervisory skills.


Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be computer proficient, including knowledge of basic computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Sheets.

Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand and walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and move 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


Hourly Rate: $15-$18 Work Hours: M-F (1 pm-5:30 pm)
