- Work with the Center for Afterschool, Summer and Enrichment team to launch Level Up Houston, a youth digital badging platform. Coordinate the recruitment of youth users through youth programs, service organizations, school districts, and municipalities. Conduct community outreach to identify and recruit content collaborators for the Level Up Houston digital badging platform. Develop and manage a membership portfolio of industry partners, college/career/military readiness program providers for the provision of quality content in the Level Up Houston digital badging system.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university
- Master's degree in Educational Administration, Social Work, or Communications preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Knowledge of afterschool programs, best practices and implementation, and field research
- Community planning and outreach experience
- Ability to communicate and present content and findings through workshops, formal meetings, and presentations
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Present information effectively in front of both large and small groups
- Computer skills, including word processing, spread sheets, and databases
- Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
- Strong technical and analytical skills
Experience:
- Experience in college/career/military readiness programming
- Experience in facilitation of content with collaborative partners
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist in the development of a strategy for implementing and growing Level Up Houston, including development of a recruitment/outreach plan, identifying industry collaborators, training and communication plans, and managing collaborators
- Foster strategic partnerships with industry collaborators that will provide content to the Level Up Houston digital badging system for Harris County youth
- Coordinate collaborator active participation in content development, monitoring of programming and issuing of badges through the on-line system
- Develop and administer community presentations to school boards, chambers of commerce, community collaborations and other venues that host stakeholder groups that are part of the outreach plan
- Recruit and manage a network of Level Up Houston youth users
- Manage tasks associated with the maintenance and customer care of the digital badging platform
- Develop and maintain a membership plan that allows content issuers to sponsor badges
- Utilize research to facilitate the alignment of content from collaborators and the Level Up Houston college/career/military readiness pathways.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of College and Career readiness activities, events, and programs throughout the school year and during the summer
- Perform a wide range of data entry tasks, such as preparing documents, spreadsheets, and presentations
