PCD Management LLC is assisting one of our favorite charities (Fort Bend Rainbow Room) in the search for a new team member.
The Rainbow Room is a resource room stocked with emergency and transitional supplies to meet the critical needs of Fort Bend County's abused and neglected children and adults.
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator shall be responsible for overseeing event and project coordination along with program administration. This role is responsible for the complete execution of events and projects while creating strategies to increase fundraising efforts. This role is also responsible for program administration to include fulfilling client needs, maintaining caseworker relationships, and inventory management.
Essential Functions:
- Work with Board of Directors to determine goals and requirements to oversee execution of approved events which currently include:
- Flo Berkman Award luncheon (event)
- Golf tournament (event)
- School supply drive (project)
- Christmas gift donations (project)
- Complete execution of events and projects to include coordination with committees (where applicable), event logistics, volunteer coordination as well as sponsor and donor acquisition / management.
- Coordinate activities with relevant Directors of the Board to meet goals established with Publicity, Membership, Outreach etc.
- Present concepts for board approval for enhancement to existing events and projects as well as recommend new events to increase community awareness and enhance fundraising efforts.
- Fulfill client needs through caseworker requests and respond to questions on services available.
- Respond to telephone and email inquiries.
- Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, coordinating volunteer / staff assistance to shop for supplies.
- Maintain the Rainbow Room and warehouse in an organized and professional manner. Inventory areas shall include but not be limited to:
- General inventory
- Special requests inventory
- School supply inventory
- Christmas inventory
- Complete inventory and data entry of in-kind and monetary donations including generating receipts and thank you correspondence.
- Attend monthly board meetings to present project updates, obtain approvals as required and solicit support in areas of need.
- Communicate questions, concerns, and suggestions to Executive Director
- Contribute to the team effort by assisting with projects / goals as authorized by the Board of Directors and / or requested by the Executive Director.
Education:
High school diploma required
College degree preferred but will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products to include Word and Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills for both verbal and written scenarios.
- Ability to produce successful events and projects in an organized and efficient manner and engage stakeholders (sponsors, donors, directors, and community partners).
- Ability to maintain an organized inventory, problem solve, analyze information, and grasp industry specific software applications will be required.
- Experience in inventory controls is helpful but not required.
- Ability to work as a team player in a collaborative environment as well as function independently when required.
- This position requires the highest level of professionalism in representing Fort Bend Rainbow Room within the community in serving the caseworkers and clients, and interacting with all interested parties related to the operation of the Rainbow Room, to include but not be limited to, board members, committee representatives, volunteers, sponsors and donors.
- Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
- Ability to travel locally; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
- Ability to work in multiple work environments to include but not limited to indoors, outdoors, and non-climate-controlled warehouse space.
- Ability to pass a background check prior to hire (and annually thereafter).
Schedule:
Flexible / primarily daytime
Periodic evening and weekends required
Comp time to be provided for time in excess of 40 hours per week should that occur
