Summary

The Education Coordinator is responsible for implementation in classroom programs with particular emphasis on volunteer retention, placement, support and recognition. This position facilitates activities of consultants and teachers, upholds quality standards for the organization, assures adherence to program models and program expansion, develops and maintains good educator relationships at all levels. This position will support and participate in all aspects of the JASN programing provided to the community with a strong focus on the implementation of in classroom and after school Junior Achievement programs. This position will also participate in cross training for all Junior Achievement programs across all grade levels including: JA in a Day, Capstone programs, alternative delivery methods for JASN programs including but not limited to summer and after school camps, private school partnerships, and collaborative agency partnerships. The Program Coordinator is a spokesperson representing the organization to constituencies, both internal and external, primarily to volunteers and educational clients. This position reports to the Director of Education, and will work closely with other education staff and the board education committee.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Programs
• Manages program quantity and quality within grade level area.
• Implements grade level programs in a school district environment, after-school locations, private school, charter school, and works closely with Community Partners, and the Event Coordinator to examine and explain JA curriculum.
• Creates recap reports for each completed program documenting successes, opportunities and challenges and submits these to their supervisor as necessary.
• Supports recruitment and retention of volunteers.
• Implements training programs and training evaluation as needed. Primarily with teachers, but with volunteers if necessary.
• Coordinates the placement and scheduling of trained volunteers.
• Assures adherence to program models and files all needed program variances.
• Develops and implements plans for teacher and consultant contacts including class visits, newsletters, phone contacts, teacher visits and call-back sessions.
• Solicits feedback through a final evaluation instrument.
• Develops and delivers presentations to support strategic plan to schools and prospective teachers.
• Cultivates and renews commitments of schools/teachers to ensure continued partnerships. Submits forecasts and interim reports to supervisor.
• Handles general records through the database system and correspondence with volunteers and companies.
• Files all class registration forms.
• Places program material orders with Director of Operations as needed and ensures delivery of all program materials to end users. Communicates the use of rebuilt kits specific to each program for proper inventory tracking.
• As requested attends Education related committee meetings or events, and prepares documents as requested.
• Ensures all school contracts are signed by authorized personnel.
• Represents JASN at community events such as United Way Campaign, volunteer drives and other outreach events.
• Jointly works with other education staff to ensure that volunteers for all programmatic needs are being met and supporting all programmatic objectives while ensuring volunteers are recognized/thanked appropriately.
Coordination and or delivery/pickup of program materials to schools and volunteers.
• Implements grant funded program objectives or evaluations as assigned.
• Actively supports the marketing of the JASN Programs and JASN in general by engaging in social media posts during education activities and working with other team members to optimize public relation and marketing opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS
• Team player with team success being the focus.
• Ability to work with and communicate with volunteers and students that have diverse backgrounds.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
• Strong and effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing; excellent public speaking skills.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines. Persuasive and driven for results.
• Be creative, innovative and progressive; possess good problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate; knowledge of Word and Excel and experience with database software. Black baud preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-starter.
• Prior volunteer management.
• Reliable personal transportation with current driver’s license and valid driver’s insurance.
• Successful completion of civil, criminal and motor vehicle background checks.
• Successfully pass drug testing.
• Ability to work in multiple environments, year-round temperatures, lift at least 25lbs, sit or stand for long periods of time, typing or using a computer for extended periods of time

Flexible Work Place
• This position reports directly to the Director of Education and with their approval may work up to 20% of their time remote from home. This is strictly on an as needed basis and can be revoked at any time. Not to exceed 8 hours a week and will not be carried over. Failure to provide adequate documentation as needed on assignments may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. ALL policies are maintained while working your shift regardless of location. All time spent remotely must be placed on company calendar and shared with staff.

• The physical demands are representative of a typical office work environment and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Additionally, the person in this role will be required to occasionally lift or carry 25-50 pounds.
