Job Description
This position is responsible for effective administration and oversight of the events and educational offerings for the association. An integral part of the team, this high-energy problem-solver will manage the planning and execution of current events and educational offerings in a creative and fiscally responsible way. This individual will build positive relationships with our members and find opportunities to add value to their Professional Development while growing revenue. Current IIABSC networking events include Spring Conference, Womens Leadership Conference, Young Agents Annual Conference, Young Agents Scholarship Golf Tournament and an Annual Convention. There are approximately 45 stand-alone education classes. This position is based on-site in our Columbia, SC office. Some overnight travel will be required.

Responsibilities
- Be the primary contact for all education and networking events for IIABSC.
- Plan, coordinate, oversee and execute all aspects of events and educational opportunities offered by IIABSC, including but not limited to sourcing site options, technology needs, lodging, topics, speakers, course descriptions, inventory, arrangements with outside providers and staffing of events.
- Manage timelines and events registration process including maintenance of records, event lists, & payment records in association database.
- Maintain positive relationships with members, sponsors, prospective members, and vendors and respond to inquiries on a timely basis.
- Serve as primary liaison to the Young Agents Committee and Annual Convention Committee, working with them to develop high-quality networking opportunities.
- Prepare and distribute marketing materials and update related webpages for education and networking events to increase awareness and drive increased participation.
- Monitor event and education income and expenses and communicate projected shortfalls or risks to meeting objectives to the Senior Vice-President.
- This position will be supported by an administrative assistant.

Requirements
- 3 to 5 years prior Event Planning experience is required with events of up to 400 attendees.
- VERY detail oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Self-starter who is able to problem solve, follow budgets, work independently, coordinate and prioritize job activities without daily supervision.
- Well organized and have the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently to meet the deadlines associated with each.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Publisher & Word), Outlook, Adobe, and Social Media. Other preferred competencies include experience with design, email marketing software like Mailchimp and Google Docs.
