Professional Coding Services Lead - Anesthesia (Remote)

Full-time: 40hrs/week

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm

Work from home

**Candidate must obtain CANPC specialty certification within 1 year of hire.

General Summary

Assists in oversight of the daily operations and work activities of the Professional Coding team. Acts in a leadership role in the absence of the assigned manager.

Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

• Oversees the work of other personnel by training, allocating and monitoring work. Performs work of a Coder.
• May perform audits on other staff members' work.
• Reviews, maintains, reconciles and/or corrects a variety of reports.
• May interact with vendors and other business associates.
• May assist staff with coding, claim edit, and follow up questions, issues, and workflow.
• Acts as a resource for coding staff, Patient Financial Services, Customer Service, Project One, and practices.
• Assists in training new hires as well as training for existing employees as needed.
• Maintains knowledge of coding guidelines.
• Able to perform workflows in Epic with proficiency.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

• 3 years Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

• Certified Professional Coder Upon Hire Required or
• Certified Coding Specialist - Physician Based Upon Hire Required or
• Certified Medical Coder Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

• Specialty Coding Certification Upon Hire Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills and computer skills.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT Coding.
