Job Description

Job Title: Production / Manufacturing Manager – Capital Equipment, Machinery

Reports To: Managing Director

FLSA Status: Exempt


Summary:

The Production / Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the overall production operations ensuring the achievement of production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with the company quality standards and customer delivery requirements. Further responsibilities are providing facility supply chain leadership including production scheduling, capacity planning, materials requirement planning (MRP), inventory management, and logistics coordination.


Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Leads the development and execution of people resource strategies in Value stream and Manufacturing Teams according to Eirich Core Values
  • Plans, directs, controls, coordinates, and evaluates purchasing, forecasting, master scheduling, inventory control, stocking, and forecasting.
  • Prioritizes and schedules the production of company products that meet company performance standards, customer specifications, and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Directs and controls warehouse activities to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished goods.
  • Deliver on people metrics (reviews, turnover, wellness, & internal fills)
  • Drives strong communication practices within the teams to engage all employees in the mission & policies of the organization and cross-functionally to successfully execute projects.
  • Develops, implements, and sustains best manufacturing practices.
  • Drives knowledge among peers and senior management by outlining manufacturing operational strategies and sharing key insights, analysis, and recommendations
  • Establishes functional objectives to support organizational objectives focused on reducing cost and improving manufacturing performance.
  • Establishes manufacturing operational strategy for value stream by evaluating manufacturing trends; establishing critical measurements; and determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies.
  • Develops financial strategy for operations through:
  1. forecasting of manufacturing requirements for assigned areas
  2. resource allocation and line capacity
  3. measurement and analysis of results
  • Leverages metrics on labor, re-work, line production, accident rate, environmental incidents, turnover/retention rate, etc.
  1. developing necessary countermeasures
  2. minimizing variances
  3. development of an annual profit plan
  4. monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Ensures health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Leverage the ERP system for reporting manufacturing metrics
  • Ensures conformance to customer & quality requirements per ISO-9001: 2015, or any other relevant applicable standards.
  • Analyzes current jobs and implements continuous improvement plans per ISO-9001:2015 standards to improve quality and productivity.
  • Quickly familiarize yourself with specifications of the two different product lines Eirich and APS
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
  • Travel may be required, international as well as domestic – 15%

Aptitudes and Abilities:

  • Must possess change management abilities and display significant leadership qualifications
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization as well as the ability to communicate effectively with customers at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to simultaneously manage a number of cross-functional teams

Education/ Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

  • A minimum of five to seven years of demonstrated experience in continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the application of manufacturing best practices – Lean, Kaisen, 5S, and Value Stream
  • Must have experience and success with positive people practices and creating a culture of trust and engagement

Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office Products
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong prioritization skills and flexibility to adapt plans as needed
  • Exceptional conflict Management skills required
  • Experience with ERP Systems (preferably SAP)
