Job Summary
The main function of a Production Welder is to set-up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, and Heliarc) and stud welding equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.
Job Description
- Read and interpret company welding blueprints including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other working documents.
- Ability to build weldments through manual layout process, when required.
- Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Communicate clearly, both verbally and written, with Engineers, Quality personnel, supervisors, and fellow team employees.
- As a member of a self-directed work group, complete all projects, assignments, and duties as directed and instructed.
- Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Associate Handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by company Management.
- Record production activities on computerized material management system (SFC).
- Remain safety-conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed safety equipment and observing all safety rules stated in the Associate Handbook.
- Verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Meet all productivity requirements
- Perform work to meet all required quality specifications.
Skills Required
- TIG welder
- Must either have certification process or already certified AWSD 1.1 or 1.6
Education/Training/Certifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
Additional Requirements
- Shift Time: 7:00 AM - 4:30PM, OT as needed
Pay Rate/Salary
- $15.70/hr and more depending on experience
