Production Technician No Experience

Summary/Purpose
Operates manufacturing equipment and participates in the assembly of components to produce high quality finished goods that meet or exceed our customer’s specification.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.

• Regular and punctual attendance is required.
• Flexible to work in any area of the operation.
• Willing and able to work any shift.
• Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT team leader, supervisor and/or manager.
• Must work safely abiding by all safety protocols.
• Inspect all safety equipment prior to production start-up (E-Stops, safety lights, PPE).
• Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element.
• Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation and produce quality parts.
• Quality – meet quality expectation, identify quality issues, engage in problem solving and Quality Circle meetings.
• Must produce standard quantities upon completion of training.
• Productivity – meet productivity standards, identifies product flow.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Perform minor preventative machine maintenance such as oiling machines and do all necessary cleaning on equipment and work area.
• Follow the non-conforming material procedure when it is found and notify the team leader.
• Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
• Comply to all JTEKT policies which include safety and environmental directives.
• Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision.
• May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Reasoning Ability – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

• The employee works an 8 or 10 hour shift and overtime is required, as needed. Overtime may be required with very short notice. The employee is required to stand a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; walk a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; push a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; pull a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; reach above, below and at shoulder level a minimum of 7.25 hours each per shift; move repetitively to left and right; grasp a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; use fine finger dexterity a minimum of 7.25 hours per shift; talk and hear. The employee must lift up to 20 lbs. a minimum of 925 times per shift and up to 40 lbs. occasionally. Specific vision abilities required with this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
