Starting at $20/hour, DOE

  • Paid Time Off
    • Years 0-5 accrual rate is 5.54 hours per pay period (accumulates to 144.04 hours, ~18 days, for 1 entire year)
  • Health Insurance (employee pays approximately 20% of total policy cost per month)

As our Production Technician, your primary responsibility will be repairing and maintaining production equipment and systems throughout the Performing Arts Center, coordinating with our Production Managers on current equipment needs and availability. Additionally, you will work backstage in our event spaces assisting clients, technical directors, and crew with equipment and systems needs to ensure every event is exceptional.

On a typical day, you may do the following:

Repairs

  • Repair lighting, audio, and video equipment.

  • Test and troubleshoot onstage production systems.

Backstage

  • Promote safety awareness and enforce safety protocols.

  • Observe the IATSE crew for possible qualifications and check off opportunities.

  • Assist Technical Directors, Stage Managers, or IATSE crews in accessing ACPA equipment and systems.

  • Assist Technical Directors, Stage Managers, or IATSE crews with ACPA-specific operations. Example: Motor Controls or the Atwood pit lift.

Other Duties

  • Clean, paint, and organize all production spaces.

To thrive in this position, you should have a solid personal work ethic, exceptional customer service, communication and organizational skills, a clear understanding of theatrical processes and workplace safety with the confidence to enforce compliance, a basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, and love providing clients and patrons with extraordinary experiences.

Our schedule varies according to the events currently in the PAC and differs week to week. Our operating hours range from 8 am to midnight typically, and sometimes beyond. Our regular shift is 8 hours.
