Job Description
Oversees monitors and coordinates Production Team Members activities, giving importance to individual members and overall team achievement in achieving policy deployment objectives.
SHIFT AVAILABLE:
2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm
Essential Accountabilities:
- Acts as a role model for safety
- Enforces company, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental policies and standards.
- Escalates non-standard conditions and breaches of safety discipline.
- Ensures all team members safely evacuate to the assigned meeting point or shelter area
- Enforces and motivates adherence to 5s standards
- Enforces the use of the Quality Basics
- Responsible for timely completion of the First Off Process
- Monitors non-conforming material and halts production as needed
- Initiates quarantine actions for nonconforming material and processes
- Communicates with support departments to coordinate actions to reduce and eliminate production losses from breakdowns, defects, and material shortages
- Tracks production loss and acts to reduce production loss
- Manages EPT bottleneck to prevent a negative impact on hourly production
- Performs problem solving and troubleshooting to identify root cause
- Conducts level 1 scrap review, decides on quality issues, and dispositions material, based on company and customer standards
- Facilitates daily level 1 Top 5 meeting
- Updates EPT board throughout the shift
- Monitors flow of raw material, work in progress and finished goods
- Ensures achievement of daily production plan
- Performs backflush and reprints labels as needed
- Identifies and recommends improvements to the efficiency of production processes
- Prepares line for shift handover
- Reports attendance of employees at shift start meeting to supervisor
- Accountable for employee productivity throughout the shift
- Fills in for short absences of operators
- Prepares for and participates in shift handover meetings
- Serves as the subject matter expert for assigned production process
- Responsible for team multivalence and completion of periodic refresher training
- Trains team members to efficiently operate multiple workstations
- Empowers selected employees to assume duties in absence of Team Leader
- Escalates serious issues and other problems in a timely manner according to established procedures
- Conduct all business-related activities for, and on the behalf of, Purem within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements
- Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Purem Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures and other HSE related requirements
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all Purem polices related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for way to improve and promote quality
- Performs some supervisor duties as needed

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum three years’ related experience and/or training in manufacturing setting
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Familiarity with SAP transactions for manual backflush, automatic backflush labels, confirmation labels, non-conforming material blocking, and stock quantities for bills of material
- Able to make accurate measurements with calipers
- Familiar with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

- This position involves working indoors around mechanical and hazards, fumes, irritants, with exposure to cold, heat and high noise levels under adverse conditions
