We are seeking a Production Team Leader for Garland Facility
This position is full-time Direct Hire. 100% Employer Paid Insurance
- 1st Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm) - Ability to work flexible hours or overtime
- Starting hourly base pay rate: $19.00 - $22.00 an hour (based on experience)

Purpose: This position is responsible to provide support in driving the process of continuous improvement from procurement to product delivery. This position takes a lead role in meeting targets for safety, quality, delivery cost, inventory, customer service and employee satisfaction/development. The Team Lead coaches, trains, supports, and develops a team of flexible, multi-skilled employees in a fast-pace manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices by following plant safety regulations and requirements
- Show concern for personal safety and the safety of others
- Follow defined housekeeping and organization expectations, support and participate in 5S process, return all tools to designated places and safely maintain equipment and tools
- Participate in safety improvements to decrease potential of workplace safety injuries
- Comply with and follow Quest quality guidelines and follow quality control plans
- Meet quality business expectations by producing acceptable parts, record scrap, document quality checks, identify non-conforming material and follow process to disposition
- Understand how the process and support customer service requirements
- Assist in identifying training needs and propose ideas to eliminate customer complaints
- Work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized work
- Start and end shift on time and follow defined shut down clean-up time
- Provide for appropriate production line coverage when employees leave the line
- Engage in cross training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support resource planning, reduce exposure to injury and increase continuous improvement suggestions
- Proficiently perform all jobs within designated area and demonstrate a willingness to rotate to other areas as needs arise. Fill in to support operations as needed
- Attend and participate in continuous improvement events such as formal and informal Kaizen events and learn, understand and implement Lean Manufacturing concepts
- Support and participate in 5S activities, elimination of waste and update work processes
- Challenge status quo values in an open and positive manner by contributing ideas, suggestions and knowledge
- Attend and participate in all required meetings by being on time and contributing in a positive and open-minded manner
- Demonstrate a willingness to operate as a highly effective team and help train them
- Clean up at designated times, putting tools, materials and products in designated spots.
- Follow standardized work for all jobs and participate in defining and improving them
- Follow lineup schedule as defined by management
- Understand and accept internal and external customer expectations, adjust to changing needs within business by being flexible and adaptable
- Maintain a respectful workplace environment, an orderly workplace and a positive attitude toward change and others
- Understand and perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
- Insure the continuous flow of production that meets planned output while identifying and escalating issues and improvements
- Perform related or other responsibilities as required or assigned
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years of leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to acquire and apply continuous improvement, lean and manufacturing system principles
- Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate people
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, and presentation
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Window aluminum industry experience or Glass experience is a plus
