JOB FUNCTION: Acts as a resource for assigned departments/areas by providing employee support, work direction, training, recruiting support and employee development opportunities for all reports. Acts as back up in areas of the plant or area of responsibility.
QUALIFICATIONS: Proven leadership ability through training, projects oversight, and other duties intended to engage and empower coworkers. Consistently flexes and provides leadership within departments and buildings to meet the company’s needs. Technical understanding of processes in the scope of the lead position are also preferred.
LEADERSHIP JOB DUTIES:
Reviews and coordinates daily production requirements including safety, quality, delivery and cost with department/s, other leads, and supervisor. Leads team to ensure daily requirements are completed to deliver an outstanding product to Gemini customers.
Coordinates staffing and scheduling for assigned department(s). Assists in determining need for overtime. Schedules vacations for employees.
Completes a variety of production records and reports as may be required of the department.
Develops and supports our culture of trust, respect and empowerment in all employees.
Provides leadership to personnel to effectively utilize the talents, experience and training of department resources.
Trains new employees and works with them to develop skills and job proficiency. Trains employees on approved standard procedures
Champions’ Lean improvements through the building. Fosters a department culture to empower and engage team mates to make improvements to areas as needed. May work with outside vendors and attend trainings and trade shows to increase knowledge.
Observes and evaluates work performed by employees to ensure that individual and teamwork performance is acceptable by standards set by the company. Coaches employees on strengths and areas for improvements. Assists employees with development areas.
Assists in the appraisal of performance of department personnel and may make recommendations to ensure that each employee is properly compensated for work performed in accordance with established policy.
Works with sales and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
Works on professional development with supervisor to continue to grow and learn.
May perform other reasonably similar lead duties as assigned.
MANUFACTURING JOB DUTIES:
Has the qualifications and skills to fill in or back up in areas of responsibility.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED or demonstrated competency through work experience
Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, supervisory experience preferred
Proven leadership, coaching, communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and organizational skills.
Understanding of lean manufacturing methods and techniques.
Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement driven change within the plant.
