Production Supervisor
Details:
- Temp-to-Hire role (after 1-3 month contract)
- PAY: $25-$27 per hour (higher once hired on fully)
- Location: Tarboro, NC (27886)
- Health/Dental/Vision offered while a temp (and full benefits once hired)
Responsibilities:
- Trains production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
- Maintains good employee relations through coaching and consistent application of employee relation policies.
- Submitting requisitions for operating personnel to meet established goals.
- Facilitate employee team operations.
- Review and coach employees in accordance with the plant goals.
- Arranges for proper maintenance of machines and equipment.
- Overtime is required to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Ensure quality and appearance of various products being produced.
- Daily consistent production output.
- Labor cost control.
- Must adjust output to production demands and keep lead-time low on time delivery (by completing schedules on time)
- Personnel matters- position carries out and conducts performance reviews and disciplinary matters (with HR Mgr)
- Position is hands on with entire day spent in the plant, checking hourly production progress and QC/appearance checks.
- Monitor and control scrap.
- Follow and maintain all implemented procedures.
- Must know and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping and 5S.
- Perform these and other comparable related duties as instructed by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of college, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years’ manufacturing experience
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Knowledge of/Ability to use computer software, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, Pricing software and other programs.
- Ability to:
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to work in a factory/warehouse setting, with prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and walking.
