Gardner Cryogenics, (an Air Products Business), leading manufacturer of cryogenic containers for transport and storage of liquid helium and hydrogen, has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor (2nd Shift) at its main manufacturing facility in Bethlehem, PA.
The Production Supervisor is responsible for directly supervising a team of 15 to 20 manufacturing technicians. Manufactured containers must comply with critical engineering criteria, customer specifications, design standards, and applicable regulatory codes. The Production Foremen ensures that appropriate manufacturing methods are applied during the fabrication process. The position must balance production schedules, safety performance, and efficiency of the manufacturing department employees while ensuring the quality of all work. Gardner Cryogenics is a union shop. Day-to-day supervision of the manufacturing technicians in support of the overall goals and objectives of Gardner Cryogenics, including safety, quality, production schedule, and budget.
- Lead the manufacturing technicians in compliance with Gardner’s Basic Safety Process
- Provide training and development for direct reports
- Coordinate with Test Department resources in support of the production schedule
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on-time
- Lead solving and investigation efforts pertaining to non-conforming product
- Manage the technician certifications and training
- Schedule external inspection agency representatives as the need arises
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the pressure vessel industry
- Strong welding and manufacturing quality experience
- Experience with lean manufacturing
- Supervisory experience in a union shop environment
- Strong technical troubleshooting background
- Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely on technical topics
