Foreman

Diamond Plastics Corporation has an immediate opening for a Production Foreman position. This position is responsible for all aspects of efficient and safe production and personnel supervision on the assigned shift.
Core Essential Functions include the following:
- Direct supervision of the personnel on the assigned shift to economically meet production schedules.
- Must be proficient in all aspects of extrusion, support systems and documentation.
- Select, orient, train, evaluate and recommend appropriate personnel action.
- Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Interpret production specifications, scheduling, orders, and company policies and procedures for employees.
- Must be proficient in all aspects of extrusion,support systems and documentation.
- Review production schedules, and other reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments and/or shifts.
- Recognize and respond to production related problems, then identify and implement appropriate resolutions and remedies.
- Assures that production is operating at maximum with minimum waste and lost production time.
- Observe production lines and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards.
- Quality inspection of all material produced before release to inventory.
- Review operations data, such as production, and cost records, and post production daily results.
- Ensure compliance with plant work rules and safety/health regulations.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
- Determine standards, production goals, and rates, based on company policies, equipment and labor availability, and workloads.
- Requisition equipment parts, or repair services.
- Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of issues or unusual matters of significance.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Reliable attendance.
- Comply with all company standards, rules and policies.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors.
- Must be able to lift and move pipe to packaging station. Weights to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to push a rolling load a distance of 30 feet.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- One - Three years supervision experience in continuous manufacturing production operation.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
