We are looking to add a new member to our manufacturing team at the Lightwave Technology Center in Blacksburg Virginia. Our innovative team manufactures a variety of fiber optic sensing products that detect changes in temperature, pressure, strain, and acoustic signals. We use these products in a variety of applications to monitor oil and gas extraction, carbon capture and sequestration (CCS), geothermal energy production, and more!

You will provide technical guidance and insight to support the delivery of multiple customer projects. You'll play an essential role in identifying improvements to products, processes and procedures. As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and supervising a team of front-line manufacturing employees
• Monitoring and managing production schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of products to meet customer demands
• Creating and managing work orders for various products and assemblies
• Reporting on metrics such as utilization, overtime and on-time supply on a weekly basis. Identify trends and areas for improvement
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality control and purchasing to enhance overall production performance
• Driving cost reduction initiatives without compromising product quality
• Managing the skill level and competency matrix for the plant operators
• Taking the lead to develop a culture of Health Safety and Environmental (HSE), quality and compliance excellence

Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will have:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

• Be familiar with managing projects in an environment with complex supply chains
• Have familiarity with ERP systems, such as SAP
• Be familiar with lean tools and practices: VSM, Kaizen, 5S, continuous flow, material flow and visual management
