Experience (preferred or required):
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university with focus in business management and/or minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory level position, preferably with plastics processing equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Individual must be a hands-on leader with strong writing and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lead and create a safe work culture. Emphasis on lockout-tag out, forklift training needs, and 100% compliance on wearing PPE.
- Ability to learn the manufacturing process as it relates to equipment start-up, operations, and company procedures.
- Must possess process troubleshooting skills to respond to and drive performance/people development.
- Must be able to supervise minor routine maintenance on equipment and ensure root cause corrections.
- Must be able to read production schedule compliance.
- Must be able to lead training effort of new employees.
- Must be able to accurately track and enter production data into CMS and verify shift production matches the report.
- Direct daily shift production of assigned departments.
- Must be able to accurately complete all administrative paperwork.
- Must ensure all product meets quality specifications.
- Achieve business goals in areas like safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Assist with performance reviews, plus other supervisory activities.
- Support all company policies and Procedures including 5S and focused work teams.
- Execute coaching and corrective discipline.
- Ensure compliance of direct reports to all policies and procedures of The HC Companies.
- Prioritize activities of team leaders and support departments.
- Monitor, maintain and improve key performance indicators daily.
- Lead by example and perform all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values.
- Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements and Skills:
- Must be able to work an 8 hour shift.
- Shift Available: 11:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday.
- Must have a good working knowledge of production processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to be shift flexible.
- 3rd party software exposure preferred with payroll/timekeeping and ERP.
- Must possess good communication/interpersonal skills and get along well with others.
- Ability to work in a team oriented work environment.
- Ability to manage time well.
- Excellent organization and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Negative pre-employment drug screen and ability to pass criminal background check.
- Excellent attendance record.
- Limited travel as required.
