Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift (2:00PM-10:30PM) Friday - Tuesday
Supervise and coordinate the activities of production team, specifically the Machine Operator Leads and Machine Operators to prioritize the safety of all team members. Directs plant operations based on the schedule and direction of Production Manager. Focuses on driving safety, quality, and productivity. Enforces operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. In some cases, will be asked to support development and implementation of new procedures. Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees per company policy.
- Applies and enforces manufacturing procedures within their team.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production.
- Ensures the alignment between Job Order and equipment availability and asks for changes to the Job Order in case of problems.
- Verifies that the mixes and molds are ready for the next team.
- Guarantees the productivity of the lines (reduce downtime equipment between job order).
- Ensures the accuracy of information for all documents (job order, auto-control) and accepts job order.
- Inspect raw materials and products to detect defects or malfunctions as part of production control.
- Ensures proper use of equipment.
- Works with the production team and quality area to improve productivity and quality results.
- Controls the operation of equipment, software, and process.
- Review and approve timecards for direct reports.
- Manage schedules for direct reports to ensure smooth operation and proper staffing.
- Support hiring and termination process for direct reports.
- Drive the Bi-weekly One-on-One with their own team member.
- Perform the annual performance reviews for each team member.
- Assist in writing procedures.
Communication:
- Confer with management and/or team members to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Create objectives each day (production board), week, and month for your team.
- Communicate the KPIs of their APU and updates information boards.
- Follow the indicators and requirements of the assigned dipping machine (reject rate, viscosity, TSC, maintenance, etc.).
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate.
- Confer with others Production Supervisors.
- Confer with other supervisors, including shipping and receiving supervisor and quality supervisor to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
Safety:
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ensures compliance with environmental safety instructions within his team.
- Ensures proper use of PPE.
- Escalates safety issues to Production Manager.
Training:
- Integrate, demonstrate equipment operations, work, and safety procedures to new employees or assign experienced employees to ne hire training.
Quality:
- Supports the updating of work instructions and production procedures.
- Ensures that updates are read and understood by their team.
- Verify the condition of control tools (tapes measurement, gauges, micrometers, etc).
