Position Summary
Purpose of the Job

This position is a front line Supervisor position responsible for leading a team of approximately 50 employees, coordinate and adjust all production activities in its area to ensure successful key performance indicators on planning, WIP, net efficiencies and budget, and to lead various ongoing improvements. This position will serve as a focal point for operations within the company and requires coordination of work with other departments, sub-contractors, engineering and management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts. This position is responsible to see that its area operates in the best conditions of safety, quality and cost consciousness within the proposed work environment and with the best possible employee relationships. This position takes the necessary actions to achieve the requested production levels integrating continuous improvement in all its aspects.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- First Line Management for production and employees of assigned production area.
- Manages policy deployment in the areas of continuous improvement, quality, cost reduction, complete and on-time delivery, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations, and plant performance measures.
- Provides leadership for employees through effective communications, coaching, training, and development. Assists in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs and objectives.
- Oversees manufacturing plan and recommends procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that product conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Identifies, recommends and implements changes prepared by other services such as TPM, MRPII, Lean, Q Objectives by engaging of employees in area
- Audits procedures and quality and defines corrective actions
- Recommends and coordinates various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (i.e. training, safety, 5S, employee engagement, etc.)
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvement and improved working relationships
- Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations
- Addresses performance-related issues.
Education:
Associates Degree in an engineering or related technical field (preferably Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering) or Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in first line management
- Knowledge and experience of problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
- Able to motivate people
- Skilled as a people manager: from coaching to discipline
- Willing to work in 3 shift system
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Experience with web-based staffing software, a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines.
