Job Description
This position will be responsible for managing the production and quality of the parts manufactured by leading the Production Department on the assigned shift. In partnership with the leaders in other departments, this position is critical to ensure customer standards and Production goals are met. In addition, some other specific expectations and responsibilities associated with the position are listed below:
- Meet and exceed productivity and quality standards using all resources and support available
- Coordinate any required equipment repairs with Maintenance and/or Tooling departments
- Ensure all related documentation is completed with accuracy and in a timely fashion (Coaching’s, Scarp Reports, Downtime Reports, Evaluations, etc.)
- Coordinate all re-work activities to ensure product meets customer standards and to reduce scrap
- Assist with and lead problem solving activities with any needed support from other departments
- Advise key personnel of situations that may pose risk to meeting customer demand or expectations with quality, delivery and availability
- Ensure communication to all leaders takes place regarding information impacting production or quality
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformance relating to productivity or quality
- Abide by and uphold all Safety Policies and 5S expectations established by the organization
- Ensure all new hire and cross training activities occur per the HR Certified Team Trainer (CTT) program
- Hold Team Members accountable for all production related standards and targets
- Communicate to HR all Team Member employee relation concerns that may arise within the department
- Assist in interviews for open positions within the department
Experience, Educational and Training Preferences:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Manufacturing Leadership role required
- Bachelors degree preferred (will accept additional years of experience in lieu of)
- Demonstrated ability in mathematics, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations required
- Data collection, statistical analysis, and technical knowledge of Blow Molding and Injection Molding required
- Must be efficient in Microsoft Office and using a computer
- Ability to read, write and speak English
Physical Requirements:
- 70% desk type work using a computer, phone and other basic office equipment required and 30% of the remaining time should be spent on the production floor, walking, standing, monitoring production and assisting in production as needed
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds individually or team lift 50 pounds
- Be able to work in an environment that is climate controlled but is exposed to potential heat,rain, and cold
Applicants Must:
- Be able to satisfactorily pass a background screen and drug screen
- Be willing to meet the physical requirements above and work overtime as needed, sometimes with minimum notice (including some weekends and holidays) to cover responsibilities based on the needs of the business
- Be able to pass a basic eye acuity exam within 2 weeks of hire
- Be willing to work alternate shifts to cover responsibilities based on the needs of the business
- Be able to meet all above noted expectations
