Production Sr. Operator - Dock

Job Description

Atlas Molded Products is seeking Production Sr. Operator - Dock 3rd Shift  for the Byron Center, MI facility.

 

Sr. Operator - Dock Primary Responsibilities

• Report to Manager at shift start for direction for the day. 
• Strong understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures. 
• Inspect and package parts according to specification pages and record required information on in-process sheets. 
• Bundle, wrap, stack, pack, load, assemble and/or label materials per specific production instructions. 
• Operate and maintain equipment such as, but not limited to, Hilo, yard switcher, flat bed and dry van trailers and wrapping equipment. 
• Verify and oversee equipment set-up throughout the process; continuous operations, and power down of manufacturing equipment. 
• Maintain and uphold productivity standards and verify all job requirements of the final products with the correct density, material, weight, size, and shape within given quality tolerance to meet specific job requirements 
• Verify shipping and receiving of all materials.  
• Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
• Knowledge of and ability to operate Pre-breakers / Re-Grinding equipment to recycle EPS. 
• Perform any other functions and responsibilities as assigned. 
• Must be trained and familiar with general safety. 
• Must be trained and familiar with Quality System Awareness. 
• Must be verified by supervisor and be signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire. 
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required. 

Sr. Operator - Dock Education, Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Drivers License required 
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.  
• Prior experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment. 
• Knowledge of basic safety standards such as Lock Out Tag Out procedures and OSHA safety standards. 

 

Sr. Operator - Dock Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Problem solving and critical thinking skills required 
• Fluent in the English language, both written and spoken, preferred. 
• Ability to assist team members learn and understand core concepts 
• Ability to apply critical thinking and identify and propose solutions to potential problems 
• Must be able to use simple math, count and use basic hand-held measuring tools

 

Total Compensation

• 3rd Shift positions starting at $19.00.
